there's been some tough times of late, for all of us...you may well have noticed...& when things get hard people have the need to reason why?
don't worry I'm not goin to start prattlin on about some god, that's really not my bag...but regardless of your religious persuasion, most people seem more than happy to refer you to the big K & how everything is 'goin to be ok because...'. well, do you know what, I have a bold admission to make here...you can exhale right now, Karma isn't goin to punish, reward or save any of us! that's just not how these things work!
the idea of a 'life force' that connects everything together is a beautiful thing & when it comes to nature there may even be evidence to suggest the existence of such a thing...the way there always seems to be a balance, that although not legislated or even known, is found! we humans are different though! there's no need to start listin genocidal dictators to make my point, it goes on all day everyday...& regardless of how 'good' you are, shit happens! the Karma element only 'exists' in-so-much-that, if you do the right thing, stand up for what you believe & try to make the world a little bit better, you'll find like minded people who feel the same. they're the one's that'll support you through the challengin times, listen when you are troubled & pick you up when you are down.
it's no good just 'prayin' for something though! hope may well be a great thing for focusin the mind on the positive things you 'want' to happen, but if you want a chance of getting something done...of bein looked after by the 'greater good', then you need to set out in search of them...the ones who inspire you, that challenge you...the ones you bounce off, the ones who really make you feel alive!
it might take you a lifetime to find them all, but you'll know when you come across one...they carry with them extraordinary wisdom & yet they'll look to learn from you...they'll speak with their actions, not words...it'll take you a while to earn their respect, but once you've got it you'll have it forever...seek them out & we'll all do well...

I, like you, often wonder whether what I'm doin with myself is worth while, whether it means anything...if what goes round & round in my head really has the importance it seems to? it's a tough question I know, because the more you think about it, the more confusin it can become. in fleetin moments it all seems to make perfect sense...& yet in others it's a complete & utter waste of time!
I think a lot...my rare ability to see things differently & make the connections others can't is a wonderful gift to have, but it comes with it's own burdens...an unstoppable need to to understand! this means I analyse, assess, break-down, take apart & deconstruct everything...& that's just externally, when it comes to lookin within, you can't begin to imagine how critical I am...or perhaps you can?
I know pretty much every difference...every detail, every element, every distinction between us all has been pointed out & emphasised since birth...but I'm not so sure that much of what we do & how we are is so different! we all have our strengths & weaknesses, successes & failures, passions & indifferences...& we're almost certainly our own worst enemies. yet so much more could be done if it was our similarities, the common elements between us that were focused on! if the differences would be held aloft, in high regard...celebrated, instead of feared?
a lot of what I see is different to you...but so much of how we are is the same. we all have our own demons to come to terms with & conquer...& some of us will eventually!
just imagine what we could do together though...

glimmers of hope after 48 hours of your glands feelin like they're about to pop, not bein able to swallow, bein drained of all you energy, achin everywhere & losin the ability to regulate ones temperature are a very a very welcome thing. then as your immune system starts to get on top of things & you drop through those levels of wellness realisation towards a state of normality...
thing is, as you do this...you kind of get an appreciation of how great & capable 'normal' you really is & it's got me questionin why we don't do more with it? sure there are everyday barriers that get in the way, but they're not half as incapacitatin as not actually bein able to do stuff is! it's not that you can't do these things...it's that you don't! so what is it that stops us?
F.E.A.R., laziness, lack of ability...habit perhaps? probably a combination of some, if not all, of these things! they're not really physical restraints though...they're not even real, let alone sizeable & yet they stop so much! there might be things you can't do...that you don't know how to do, but you can always learn...or work with someone else to fill in the gaps!
it's not really our fault we are this way either, we're spent our entire lives bein conditioned to be like this...at school...in exams, “do the bit's you know, the easy bits first & tackle the hard stuff at the end if you've got time”! well you never have enough time...nobody does!
so, the time has come to make a choice (Mr Anderson), either you choose to tackle the big stuff first time from this day forth, or you choose find yourself another excuse for not doin it!

“there are two types of people in this world, those who divide the world into two types & those who do not”
there are so many things in life that people hold in high regard...desire, fight over, even kill for...but when it really comes down to it, there is no commodity more valuable than time itself!
it's the only thing that, regardless of how much money or power you have...no matter who you are or what you do, you have no control over! it's the one thing that puts us all on the same level, as equals & you can't escape it, no matter what you do! so many people seem to get more hung up on age rather than time though...
the thing is, that despite what people perceive about age, it's not the same as time...age is not a number, it's a state of life! I know people who get hung up on the fact they're no longer gonna be a teenager or that they're about to turn the big 3-0...& then there's the people I know who are just 28...goin on 55!
in the famous words of Bruce Waynes alternative persona “it's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you”. there may be all sorts of personal preconceptions, assumptions & stereotypes about the 'number', but it really has little to less than nothin to do with a chronological mark in time. the old adages of 'it's never to late', 'you're never to old...to young'...all that, it means something!!
some people think of time in slots & sets...you've heard the one that goes 'you have to spend the same time you did doin it, getting over it'...in business as well as life! it really has nothin to do with that though, we have no idea how much time we have here...it's harsh, but true! if you ask people who have been close to the end of it or those who know how long 'til it really runs out...they're tell you how little they care about what number people will associate with it & more about their concerns over what they've done with it!
we're all subject to it, hour-by-hour, minute-by-minute, second-by-second...the important thing is how you spend it? makin a difference, doin something worth while, tryin to change your world...or just passin the time 'til 5 o'clock, makin £5.80...£10...£50...£300...£1,000 an hour? we're just back to numbers again & they don't matter if you don't know why...if you don't do it for a reason?
what's yours...
